Privacy
Policy
What we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to make us delete it. Short, because we collect very little.
We do not sell personal data.
We do not run a marketing list.
You can ask us to delete everything.
1. Who is the data controller
BritCrown.Hub, of 2nd Floor, 84 Curtain Road, London, EC2A 3BE, United Kingdom, is the data controller for personal data processed through this website. We process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Data protection contact: privacy@britcrownhub.co.uk.
2. What we collect
We have deliberately built this website to need almost nothing from you. There is no account to create and no login.
a. Information you give us
If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, the subject you selected and your message. We use it for one purpose: to reply to you. We do not add you to any list, we do not profile you and we do not pass your message to any operator.
b. Information collected automatically
Our web server keeps standard technical logs: IP address, date and time, the page requested, HTTP status, referring page and browser user-agent. These logs exist for security and for diagnosing faults. They are not used to build a profile of you.
c. Optional analytics
If — and only if — you accept optional cookies in our consent banner, we collect aggregated usage statistics: which pages are read, roughly how long for, and which country the visit came from. This tells us which reviews are worth updating. If you reject optional cookies, none of this is collected and the website works identically. See our Cookie Policy for the detail.
d. What we never collect
We do not collect payment details, because we never take payment from you. We do not collect identity documents, because we never verify anyone's identity. We do not ask for your date of birth, only for your confirmation that you are 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 — if we learn that we have, we delete it.
3. Our lawful bases
| Purpose | Data | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Replying to your enquiry | Name, email, message | Legitimate interests — responding to a request you made |
| Keeping the website secure and working | Server logs, IP address | Legitimate interests — security and fault diagnosis |
| Understanding which pages are read | Aggregated analytics | Consent — withdrawable at any time |
| Measuring advertising performance | Aggregated conversion counts | Consent — withdrawable at any time |
| Keeping records we are legally required to keep | Correspondence where relevant | Legal obligation |
4. How long we keep it
- Contact messages: 24 months from our final reply, then deleted. Editorial corrections are kept longer in anonymised form so we have a record of what we changed and when.
- Server logs: 30 days, then automatically purged.
- Analytics: 14 months maximum, in aggregate form.
- Consent record: your cookie choice is stored in a first-party cookie on your own device for up to 180 days so we do not ask again.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. Ever. We share it only with processors who help us run the website, under contract and only on our instructions:
- our hosting provider, which stores the website and its server logs;
- our email provider, which carries the message you send us;
- our analytics provider, only where you have given consent;
- an advertising measurement provider, only where you have given consent, and only in aggregate.
We may also disclose data where we are legally required to, for example in response to a valid request from a regulator, a court or law enforcement.
Where a processor is outside the UK, transfers are protected by an adequacy decision or by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
6. Advertising
We advertise this website, including on Microsoft Advertising. Where you have consented to optional cookies, an advertising provider may set a cookie so that we can count how many people arrived from an advert and reached a review. This is used in aggregate, to judge whether our advertising is worth the money. We do not upload customer lists, we do not build audience segments about individuals, and we never target advertising at anyone under 18. Gambling-related advertising is restricted to adults, and we apply that restriction to every campaign we run.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- be told what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased, where we have no overriding reason to keep it;
- restrict or object to our processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, which for cookies you can do from our Cookie Policy page;
- not be subject to solely automated decision-making — we do not do any.
To exercise any of these, email privacy@britcrownhub.co.uk. We respond within one month and we will not charge you. We may ask for enough information to be sure the request is genuinely yours.
8. Complaining to the regulator
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
9. Security
The website is served over HTTPS. We apply security headers, keep dependencies patched, restrict administrative access and store correspondence in access-controlled systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we hold very little about you, which is itself the strongest protection we can offer.
10. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our processing changes. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for a reasonable period.
